Celebrities live busy lives. Depending on a celebrity’s fame, the more active they become. Sometimes their busy schedules can be about a particular project they are doing. Only a few stars spend less than eight hours on set. Most of them spend 10 to even 16 hours working on their latest projects. However, some celebrities can’t help but save enough time to de-stress and enjoy their favorite video game.
The number of gamers is increasing in the US, and experts believe it would only be a matter of time before it has become the country’s favorite hobby. It has even surpassed the sports and movie industries combined. It’s no surprise for most people because it seems that athletes and celebrities alike are into gaming. But most of them keep it away from the media. However, since it has become such a profitable market, some can’t help but take advantage of it.
Matthew Perry
Matthew Perry is a particularly old actor and a very busy one. Being a comedian and producer at the side makes him one of the busiest celebrities in Hollywood. But Perry admits that he has an addiction that helps him de-stress, and that addiction is found in the Fallout franchise.
Fallout is considered one of the biggest franchises right now in gaming, and Perry can’t seem to stop playing it. In an interview with Ellen Degeneres, he stated that he had gained carpal tunnel from playing the game so much that he had to visit a doctor. He also gave Ellen a copy of the game, which came as a surprise to the host.
Eventually, Perry landed a role in one of the Fallout games. In Fallout: New Vegas, he was assigned to voice one of the game’s pivotal characters, Benny. Perry claims it was one of the best moments in his life.
Zachary Levi
We all know Zachary Levi as the leading actor in the hit show DC movie Shazam. We also know him from the hit series Chuck. He is a lovely actor that can seem to make anyone smile. Furthermore, he loves acting so much that he dedicates most of his time to doing it. But of course, he gives some time for himself, and during his alone times, Levi claims he plays a lot.
Levi loves his first-person shooters. He plays games like Call of Duty, Destiny, and Battlefield often. But he also enjoys some third-person shooters such as Gears of War. He is undoubtedly a fellow gamer within and one you might encounter in gaming lobbies and taking names. He’s also open to taking gaming-related projects in the future, so we’re pretty excited about that.
Vin Diesel
The Fast and Furious star, Vin Diesel, enjoys his races and physical activities. But there are some activities he also enjoys off-screen, and they are activities that you wouldn’t expect someone like him to enjoy.
Vin Diesel enjoys playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons with his friends. He also enjoys dedicating some of his time playing MMORPGs, RTS, and first-person shooters like Call of Duty. Diesel loves video games so much that he started a video game company known as Tigon studios. This studio created hit games such as The Chronicles of Riddick and Wheelman.
The studio was suspended from work after the creation of these games. However, some rumors state that Diesel has reactivated the company last 2013. No one truly knows what the gaming studio is up to now, but we’re pretty excited about it.
Henry Cavill
Who would have known that Superman himself is a big nerd and lover of video games? Well, actor Henry Cavill had shown just that when he built his custom gaming PC in front of millions of viewers. This indicates that he knows his video games and his rig.
Henry Cavill has been an avid gamer since he was a kid. He’s a big fan of World of Warcraft and Warhammer. Quite recently, Cavill also finished The Witcher and landed the role of playing its lead character, Geralt. It is an exciting development, we must say, and it seems that playing video games has gained him some benefits during acting.
Cavill claims that playing The Witcher has given him the know-how of acting his given role. Furthermore, it gave him ideas of how the world works. All of this has contributed to the phenomenal acting he had with his character. We’re certainly looking forward to more of him playing game-related roles.
So there you have it, the four celebrities who enjoy gaming as a hobby and a pastime. This just shows that anyone can be into gaming, and you shouldn’t be ashamed if you’re doing it as your hobby.
