The Bobcats lost their 41st game of the year, but Michael Kidd-Gilchrist gave fans something to cheer about in the 4th quarter with a mean throw down on Pistons’ Greg Monroe:

Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was taken away in a stretcher during tonight’s game in Houston after he attempted to block Toney Douglas’ fast break layup and collided with teammate Jeff Taylor who was going for the rebound.

According to Charlotte Observer:

Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had his neck immobilized and was taken to a Houston hospital Saturday, following a nasty fall and collision in the game against the Houston Rockets.

Kidd-Gilchrist was on the floor for several minutes, holding his head in clear pain as medical staff from both teams attended to him. Finally he was placed in a neck brace and a stretcher wheeled him out to a waiting ambulance.

Kidd-Gilchrist was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital’s emergency room for X-rays.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Gerald Henderson, Reggie Williams & Byron Mullens of the Charlotte Bobcats ran into comedian Carrot Top on Tuesday in Atlanta.  Wonder if he had any jokes about last night’s game?

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is the newest member of Team Jordan Athletes. The rookie shooting guard for the Charlotte Bobcats released a photo on Instagram saying he was “Glad to be a part of the brand Jordan family”:
