J.R. Smith took a Bargnani-like shot in crunch time of Friday’s game against the Rockets. After Tyson Chandler was able to pull down an offensive rebound with just 23 seconds remaining and the game tied at 100, the Knicks had an opportunity to hold the ball and run down the clock for the last shot, but instead Smith decided to hoist up a three-pointer which he later credited to thinking the team was trailing by two points at the time. J.R. went on to miss the shot and Aaron Brooks made a pair off free throws after getting fouled with 17 seconds left to win the game 102-100.
“Honestly, I thought we were down by two…”
Bone head play! Slander well deserved!
