LeBron James Says He’d Score 60-70 Points If He Was To Take 37 Shots In A Game

Earlier this week, Rudy Gay scored 29 points on 37 shot attempts in a loss to the Raptors.  Friday night, LeBron James scored 39 points on only 18 attempts.  When asked about shot attempts/efficiency around the league, LeBron says he’d get 60-70 points “easy” if he was to take 37 shots in a game.

According to Tom Haberstroh of ESPN Miami:

After Friday’s game, James was asked about his reaction when he sees other players shooting 30 — or as much as 37 — attempts in a game.

“Um …,” James pondered for a few seconds as if he was calculating something in his head.

“If you give me 37 shots in a game, I’d have 60 … 70,” James said.

…“I had [almost] 40 now with 18 shots, I mean … If you give me 37 shots in a game, I’d put up 60. Easy,” James said.

Haven’t looked at the stats yet, but I believe that shots taken that are missed but result in free throws should count in the shots taken stat. I’m betting he took at least 25 shots for that 39. Still good, but not as good as 18
