The New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets are reportedly in trade discussions centered around guard Iman Shumpert and forward Kenneth Faried.
Shumpert is averaging 9.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Knicks this season, while Faried is putting up 8.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
The Knicks’ front-court is in need of help with the recent leg fracture to Tyson Chandler and the minutes restrictions on Amar’e Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin.
According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News:
Talks between the Knicks and Nuggets centered around a deal that would send Iman Sumpert to Denver for forward Kenneth Faried have intensified in recent days, the Daily News has learned.
According to a league source, no deal is imminent, although the struggling Knicks feel they need to make a move to bolster their banged-up front court.
