With just seconds remaining in the Blazers-Spurs game Saturday night and a Portland win secure , Nicolas Batum, 2 points shy of his third career triple-double (8 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists), showed some bad judgement as he shot a three-pointer in an attempt to complete the rare stat. Well, he was successful as he nailed the long-range shot, but Tim Duncan did not look too pleased.
This image says it all:
“That is maybe the worst thing I’ve done in my career right now,” Batum said. “I want to apologize to the Spurs organization, because that didn’t show good (respect) for the game, for myself, for the Blazers. I don’t really want to disrespect this team.”
