Report: Pelicans, Rockets Discussing Ryan Anderson For Omer Asik Trade

Following reports that Omer Asik has no interest in being Dwight Howard’s backup in Houston, or even playing alongside him, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports the New Orleans Pelicans are pursuing the third-year center, looking to make an offer centered around forward, Ryan Anderson, who played with Howard in Orlando.

The New Orleans Pelicans are pursuing center Rockets Omer Asik, open to the idea of trading forward Ryan Anderson to Houston, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The players’ salaries make the trade palatable, and Asik would give the Pelicans a starting center to play alongside No. 1 overall pick Anthony Davis.
