Report: Bobcats Hire Steve Clifford As Head Coach

According to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Bobcats have hired Lakers assistant, Steve Clifford, as their new head coach.

Former Suns assistant, Elston Turner, and former Duke player, Quin Snyder, were also in the mix but the franchise ultimately chose the top defensive assistant who has more than twenty-three years of coaching experience between the NBA and college. Clifford has been an assistant coach on the Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks but most recently spent this past season with the Los Angeles Lakers after being brought there by Mike Brown.

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN LA reports the Bobcats and Clifford agreed on a three-year deal worth $6 million with the third year being a team option.
