The Timberwolves are reportedly finalizing the release of Brandon Roy after a failed comeback for the sixth-year shooting guard, playing just five games this season for Minnesota after signing a two-year/$10 million contract with the team over the summer. This could mark the end of his career as he said earlier in the season after suffering additional knee woes that he was at a crossroads. The former 6th overall pick did however reportedly express interest in continuing his career beyond this season in early April.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports:
The Minnesota Timberwolves are formalizing the release of Brandon Roy, ridding themselves of the $5.3 million owed him in the 2013-14 season, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
An announcement is expected in the near future.
