Hornets’ Anthony Davis will miss the remainder of his rookie season (3 games) after an MRI revealed he has a sprained MCL and a bone bruise. Luckily, there was no structural damage. Davis averaged 13.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks (29 minutes) in 64 games this season but will likely be runner up to Damian Lillard for Rookie of the Year.
The No. 1 pick suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Wednesday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings. Davis collided with Marcus Thornton as he attempted to draw a charging foul on him and stayed on the floor writhing in pain before leaving the game.
