Popovich After Win Over Hawks: It Was A Pathetic Performance

The undermanned Spurs team, playing without Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, were able to grind out a win over an even more undermanned Hawks team without Josh Smith, Devin Harris, Kyle Korver, Al Horford and DeShawn Stevenson. But, the 2-point victory didn’t sit well with coach Popovich who called the win “pathetic.”

According to ESPN:

“In general, other than Timmy, in a lot of ways it was a pathetic performance,” Popovich said. “That kind of play isn’t going to get us very far at the end of the season. It’s not the first time we’ve played like that in the last few weeks. This team needs to get its head around itself and understand what it takes to be there, because as a group, they don’t have it right now.”
