Awesome speech by Golden State Warriors coach, Mark Jackson, to his team during a timeout in overtime with the Spurs. GSW hadn’t beaten San Antonio in the last 16 meetings, but they followed their coach’s inspirational advice and got the job done. Up 3 with 21.9 seconds to go, the Warriors came up with a big stop on San Antonio’s potential game-tying possession, stealing to ball and clinching the win.
“I used to sit where you sit, and after all that work a coach would take me out and bring in somebody to stop; somebody to defend. It was disrespect to me. You earned the right to win the game. You earned the right. Alright, let’s go get it.”
