Guard Chauncey Billups continues to scrimmage at full speed, and his progress has Butler impressed. “He looks good to me,” Butler said. “We’ll see him out there soon.” The Clippers have still not set a timetable for Billups’ return, but signs are pointing to it being sooner than later.- The Orange County Register

While playing host to the Raptors at the Toyota Center,  the Rockets will don a green patch with purple trim on the left shoulder of their home white jerseys. Green was Sasha’s favorite color, according to the Houston Chronicle, while purple is the color associated with the fight against Lupus, an autoimmune disease that Sasha reportedly battled for years. – SI.com

It’s tough just having no feel for the basketball. It has been bothering my free throws, been bothering my three-point shot and every shot. It’s not an excuse. When you wear something restricting like that, it’s hard to be your normal self.” Love practiced without the glove on Monday during a 90-minute workout at Oracle Arena that was his first with the team since he broke his hand six weeks ago and said he “felt a lot better” without it. He said he will consult with head athletic trainer Gregg Farnam before deciding whether he will wear it Tuesday at Sacramento and what the risks are if he doesn’t. -Star Tribune

Danny Granger came to Monday’s practice without crutches for the first time since receiving an injection to aid the recovery of his knee. Granger did not speak to the media, but Hill said the sign of progress was speaks volumes. “It’s “very encouraging. Rockets acting head coach Kelvin Sampson said he expects to get Lowry’s best.

“He’s just the ultimate competitor,” Sampson said. “He plays to win. Before he fell ill last year, he arguably could have easily made the All-Star team the way he played. I don’t know if he holds a grudge. That’s something only he can answer. I know he’d like to stick it to us.” -Ultimate Rockets

Back spasms prevented Kidd from playing in the Knicks’ 96-89 overtime loss to the Nets last night. Kidd didn’t even come to the game…Kidd has had back issues in the past. It becomes more alarming because of his age. Kidd, 39, is the NBA’s third-oldest player. -Newsday
