Damian Lillard isn’t just crafty with a basketball in his hand, the Portland point guard has got a few tricks up his sleeve off the court as well.  On Tuesday he posted a photo of his beaming mom next to a Cadillac Escalade SUV wrapped in a bright red bow.  It was a surprise gift for her birthday.  It’s the kind of gift that most can only dream about giving, something Lillard called “the kind of moment that makes me happy”.  

Lillard describing how the surprise he had planned out for a month went down:

I called her and told her we were going to go to lunch after shoot-around with family that I had in town. Then when I came home I said come outside and let’s get your gifts out of the car so we can go to lunch. Then she came out and she saw the truck and it had a bow and everything on it so kind of started laughing then she started crying.  She was excited and those are the kind of moments that make me happy.
